BladeI've once more fixed the script for downloads so again all maps and TX components are available to download. Apologies to anyone who could not get what they needed while they were down.

.:: TX 2.02a released ::.
Posted by Blade on .::[Wednesday : 06/21/06]::.
BladeAs DJBREIT previously announced in the forums, version 2.02a of the TX has been released. Unfortunately we have had to remove the high train bridge support due to problems with the rock patch code that enabled them. The tiles and the set are still included so you can start designing maps with them in mind if you wish.

It was decided that the version should remain at 2.02 since this is mainly a bug fix release now. The next release will likely be 2.03 if the rock patch gets its support code fixed for the train bridge feature.

On the subject of the Rock patch, this version of the TX fully support the use of urban areas in random maps. This feature was present in Tiberian Sun, but was removed from RA2 and YR. When enabled, small areas of buildings and civilian units will be randomly placed on the map.

Finally, due to issues with the download scripts that constantly plague the site, several downloads were unavailable or pointed to the wrong files. I've manually reset the data file that points to the downloads to a known good version. This will have messed up the download counts, so they will all be innaccurate. Hopefully you should be able to download all our files again, at least for a while.

.:: Terrain Expansion v2.03 in Beta ::.

BladeA new version of the TX is currently in the works after DJBREIT has fixed a number of slight bugs caused by incomplete features in the TMP editor. Radar colour of the tiles and the flag controlling if they have a damaged state should all be correct now. Thanks to MetalMario for building an updated version of the editor for us and for working on contributions to the TX himself.

DJBREIT has also added the Train Bridge tiles and overlay for use with PD's Rock Patch. You can play maps with train bridges without the patch, but they won't look right and won't be functional. The RMG Urban areas feature will also work correctly in the snow theatre with this version of the TX.

The full public release should be happening soon, but the beta is available from the TX's forum if you want to help us look for bugs or incompatibilities with any existing maps.

Unreleated to the new TX beta, but I've also fixed the download to the map '(TX) Crystal Forest' so that it actually points to the correct map now. If you've been trying to get that map but have been getting a different one instead the link should be working now.

CannisRabidusOnce again our download script data file got corrupted and had to be replaced. So if you were unable to download something in the last day or two, then please try again - it should work now.

I'll be switching the script over to something more reliable as soon as I get the chance. Once I do that, hopefully this won't happen anymore.

CannisRabidusWe have a new map for you today, from Seniorwhoppy, a first time mapmaker. Now, I know when you hear "first time", it's time to roll your eyes and groan. But Seniorwhoppy has gotten his introduction to mapmaking, and guidance, from Dark Scorpion, along with development feedback from Flak and myself. So rest assured that the finished product is a good one. Besides, if I'm putting the map on the TX site, then it belongs here.

This is a visually-appealing and fun map, that lets you fortify your base position as the map title would suggest. But the fight for resources keeps the game honest. Download the map, you won't be disappointed.

FlakCannis has finished his latest TX map, entitled (TX) Below Sea Level.

At first glance it looks a lot like other typical Urban maps with it's symmetrical layout and water-surrounded bases. However, the player locations are below the surrounding water, meaning they're very vulnerable to naval attacks. Additionally, the several tunnels entering the player's base mean you have to be on high alert at all times.

.:: Multiplayer map downloads fixed. ::.

CannisRabidusAn error in the download script prevented any multiplayer TX map from being downloaded. I'm really sorry for the inconvenience. If you tried to download a map and couldn't, then please try again.
